Audrey - Elegance myth

Leggere e vedere "Colazione da Tiffany" ha determinato il mio innamoramento per l'eterea Audrey Hepburn... da allora la considero l'incarnazione del gusto e dell'eleganza... non di quella sfacciata e invadente che oggi molti spacciano per stile, ma di quella appena sussurrata che sa farsi notare senza grande clamore ma con, al contrario, grande effetto...

Reading and watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's" made me fall in love with ethereal Audrey Hepburn... since then I have been considering her the personification of taste and elegance... not the impudent and loud one that most sell off like style these days, but the whispered elegance that is able to catch the attention without causing an uproar, but, on the other hand, has remarkable effect...

la sua delicatezza di tratti e movenze l'ha resa inarrivabile per chiunque, un mito che rimarrà tale, indipendentemente dal gusto dell'epoca...

her traits and motions' grace made her unreachable for anyone, a myth that will stay unchanged, no matter the taste of the time...

L'incredibile serie di film che l'hanno resa famosa sono ben conosciuti, ma credo valga la pena di ripercorrere almeno i più importanti (non cito le nomination ai diversi riconoscimenti perchè la lista sarebbe troppo lunga)....

The oustanding film series that made her famous are well known, but I think it's worth retracing at least the most famous ones (I won't mention all the nominations her movies got because the list would be far too long)...

1953 - Vacanze romane con Audrey Hepburn e Gregory Peck.

Per questo film Audrey vinse l'Oscar come migliore attrice protagonista, nel 1954. L'abito che indossò agli Oscar, bianco a fiori di Givenchy,  è stato giudicato come uno dei più belli di sempre...  
L'attrice conquistò anche il Golden Globe come miglior attrice in un film drammatico, il premio BAFTA come miglior attrice britannica e un New York Film Critics Circle Awards  come miglior attrice protagonista. Il film vinse inoltre l'Oscar per il miglior soggetto e per i migliori costumi (Edith Head).

Thanks to this film, Audrey won a Best Actress Oscar in 1954. The dress she wore for the Oscar Night, a Givenchy floral white dress, has been defined one of the most outstanding ever...
The actress won also the Best Actress Golden Globe, the BAFTA award as Best British Actress and a New York Film Critics Circle Awards as Best Actress. The movie got the Best Screenplay Oscar and the Best Costumes Oscar too.

1954 - Sabrina con Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart e William Holden.
Il film vinse l'Oscar per i migliori costumi e il Golden Globe per la migliore sceneggiatura.1954 - Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden.

The film won the  Best Costumes Oscar (Edith Head) and the Best Screenplay Golden Globe.

Il film, tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di Tolstoj, vinse il Golden Globe come miglior film straniero in lingua straniera e 2 Nastri d'argento per la miglior scenografia e la miglior musica.

The movie, made out of the homonymous Tolstoj novel, won the Best foreign language film Golden Globe and 2 Nastri d'argento for Best Set Decoration and Best Soundtrack.

Film musicale in cui Audrey canta senza doppiatrice ed è vestita interamente da Givenchy.

Musical movie where Audrey sings without dubber and her set of clothes is entirely made by Givenchy.

1961 - Colazione da Tiffany con Audrey Hepburn e George Peppard.

Tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di Truman Capote, narra la storia dell'ingenua ed eccentrica Holly Golightly, per la cui interpretazione Audrey Hepburn è passata alla storia.Il film vinse due Oscar, per la miglior canzone (Moon River, cantata dalla Hepburn)  e miglior colonna sonora  e un David di Donatello per la migliore attrice straniera (Audrey Hepburn).
Curiosità: - Tiffany aprì per la prima volta di domenica proprio per permettere le riprese del film.

- l'abito da sera nero di Givenchy che Audrey indossò nel film è stato venduto all'asta nel 2006 per467.200 sterline e ora è possibile vederlo al Museo del costume di Madrid!

mi sarei fermata al precedente film ma ho una predilezione per la storia di Robin Hood... il film si concentra, più che su spade e battaglie, sulla storia dei due protagonisti e sui loro sentimenti... struggente.
